Adzer van der Molen

In 1988 I graduated from the art academy AKI in Enschede. Since then I live and work in Amsterdam.
My paintings originate from film stills and television images, photography. In the symbolically layered work I make use of the landscape’s suggestive meaning; the contemporary, manufactured landscape in which isolated construction (fences, houses or roads) represents human endeavour. A metaphorical landscape is developed, that seeks to transcend the particular. Titles of the works, derived from imagery and lyrics of songs, emphasise this.

The work has been selected for the exhibition “Door Schilderogen” in Arti Amsterdam, and is represented by gallery “Nasty Alice”.
